Are only Russians stupid enough to think Communism is a good idea?

No, there are plenty of commies here if you step foot onto a university campus.

Think? They tried to implement it.
But they weren't the only ones. China tried Maoism before and failed, and NK practices it nowadays.

Well communism is a great idea. No doubt about it.
But that's just what it is. An idea. A dream.

In practice, it doesn't take into account fundamental features of human nature, and thus is flawed and can never work in the real world.

OP you should probably know that in Russian mindset communism is a codeword for Russian imperialism and all that clay they managed to steal during USSR times

I'm not sure if it failed because of human nature.

I do believe that it got to a point where they couldn't keep the country under centralised planning without massive inefficiency and stagnating innnovation.

Well it's the point where you have to threaten people with punishments and use secret police to force the minds of the people to follow the ideology which is the big flaw, and also rewarding people for complying with the state leads to innefficiency.
If everyone co-operated out of their own will, it might just have worked.
I mean it's a great idea. Coincides with many principles of the Bible. "He who does not work, neither shall he eat", also the idea that you only take what you need. It all sounds lovely, everyone is productive, well-fed, etc.
But if their hearts aren't in it, then it's doomed to fail.
