What are the best 2D games, not older than 10 years (since the last update).
All recent 2D games are made by hipsters for hipsters.
What's pic 2?
I bought Rimworld this week and unfortunately wasted two days and fucked up a very important work project.
what exactly is a hipster? Perhaps you, too?
The vidya game market is mainstream now. People want great grefecs on theiy prey steshon and ex bawkes.
Passionated guys in their basements are coding some alternative games with ugly grafecs for the non-mainstream market.
Isnt this what you would call hipster?
I played Rimworld for 2 days. It got boring fast. Not enough micro management. Too repetitive... the 2 days were pretty fun tho.
Knights of Pen and Paper series
SimCity 4 is technically 3D
There are plenty. RimWorld is shit tho.
Perhaps you might help me to find the name of a recent game. Distinctive features:
- strange, horror ambient
- 2d pixelated but a bit blurred
- starts at some factory, production lines everywhere
- girl protagonist. Walks slowly, looks dreamy, you need to drag her around
- first boss is a tractor with sort of dragon head. You needed to throw dinamite into his mouth and hide under the minecart.
- game name had letters, numbers and symbols in it
Dungeon of the endless
Is there also something cozy (yet non maximus autisimus)? I like building stuff. And I like it realistic.
It's even better with Fallen London at the same time. When you are tired of grinding shit in SS you can come to FL and grind more shit! Love both of them
+1 for Kingdom Rush
(it is free on mobile, btw, get it, it is worth it)
My recent timesinkers.
how do u have patience to learn such games, dude?
Fug I totally forgot Sunless Sea, one of my favorite gaming experiences of all time.
Meatboy is probably the best barebones platformer I've played. Only the skill matters is a great design principle to have a fair but hard game.
Shovel Knight is kinda meh, it's well made homage to 8-bit games, but I already played those in 90's, there was no innovation except it being superb quality of that genre - only some decades too late.
Never really liked The Binding of Isaac, the bullets go too slow, everything seems clumsy and boring. Enter The Gungeon seems to do that better, with more ballsy weapons and bigger maps and more varied gameplay but I haven't actually played it.
He is not a stink turk dog and thus has a decent level of intelligence.
u can be intelligent, but not patient, mate. calm down.
Cozy building games is a way too short list. The last Anno was something I liked.
Dunno, they are interesting to me. I wish i had all that patient to do something useful with my life.
Impatience comes from lack of intelligence. If you're straining yourself too hard thinking, it becomes uncomfortable and you rather not do it. But if it's easy but challenging enough it's fun.

Was the last Anno the futuristic one?
1. Ultima Online (last update November 2015)
2. Stronghold Kingdoms
I would love to play a modern 2D anno again (inb4 these freemium crap games for mobile/browser).
Other games I would love to play in 2d:
- a decent realistic city builder
- stronghold or similar
- GTA2ish games
- Industry Giant 2 (inb4 the HD remake version)
u seem to be very arrogant. do u have friends?
I meant that I'm good at procrastinating studying math because it's so difficult so I easily give up. I assume that's how everybody feels when facing task that's above their intelligence.
And to answer the question, yes I have and we discuss about this kind of things in real life and try to find the truth and make sense of the world. But I don't hang out with "typical" people, only with other "weirdos" from the university which share the common trait of lacking ego which is essential for serious discussions. In normal group of people it's impossible since you have to be constantly careful to avoid any sensitive topics that might hurt somebody's feelings. That's why I tend to avoid such company if possible, it's just one big theathrical display, everyone is wearing their "social masks" and pretends to be somebody else for the sake of the group. No real information is exchanged, the collective feel building is the primary goal.
t. redbulled about human social interaction
War II: Das Schlachtfeld
Brofist, same settis here.
t. philosophy and history
Da fuqin ADS.
Should post screenshots, because no one notices
Man, OTTD multiplayer with bernds was fun.
i never play with bernds in TTD
I just finished picrel yesterday evening and it was pretty good
puzzles are a bit easy though (might be because I play PnC all the time, your experience may vary)
It's such a shame that factorio has this post-apocalyptic art stile.
Are there any mods that fix that?
what was the appeal behind sunless see, I see lots of bernd enjoying it but tbh I found the game to be really boring. it's basically just a mutiny and resource manager and once you figure out how to handle both, the fun factor drops to zero. also it comes off as a bit pretentious with the textwalls that most players will basically have committed to memory after a 20+ hours of play.
that feel when too stupid for Factorio. Only reached level 5. Then it gets too complicated.
good for you, I seconded your recommendation
checking out almost every recommendation from this itt treda
t. mobo pci slot crapped out :DD
I didn't mean "ey, read the thread", but "gud dasde, brah". What's next on the list?
Go to adventuregamestudio.co.uk for tons of free gaymz
Liberal Crime Squad
Xenonauts best one.
also its isometric not 2d
that was one of few games where i was richest terraformer :DDDDD
But not made out of 3d models, right?
There is a FTL map for SS13 in the works.
I haven't run my randomizer (was too tired) so not sure. I played punch club before that and it was really buggy to the point where my game file corrupted itself so I can't recommend that one.
That's not an adventure game anyway (I think)
no it's kind of a tycoon-ish game, it's a shame they made it less interactive and had such fucked up skill trees and stat atrophy, the concept is kind of fun but the execution is just bleh (plus the bugs ruin it completely)
If you like building stuff, starbound is nice
dead game is dead, it's like no man's sky before no man's sky was an idea (and just as much of a failure)
It's primarily a single player game, or co-op you play with your friends, so it doesn't matter how popular it is.
"Hipster" is what you call anyone you don't like with a better social life than your own.
even as a SP game you will run out of things to do and/or it will just get repetitive
games stop being fun when you can predict the outcome with 100% certainty
Rising World is sort of like an adult, more realistic Minecraft. Builder's heaven.
OpenTTD and some newgrfs for cute sprites.
Try Gemini Rue and Primordia.
I bet he already has
Every game gets repetitive and boring at some point, I don't see how it's an unique characteristic of Starbound. It has enough content to keep you interested for 20+ hours and that's enough for any game.
my gf plays stardew, says its great. dunno havent played yet
I remember that game in pic 1&2, good times man.
grand ages rome for city builders with some combat
starsector for space games
I can't play games anymore.
Play a paradox game as spain and exterminate the natives completely so that in your alternate history you are born white.
we did train duels, but pathing is not random so it sucked.
You really want to be white, don't you? Tough luck for you.
I wonder if there is any merit to the jewish idea of "projection"
Is isometric dorf fort really playable?
yes but starbound hits that ceiling early and after quite the tease/buildup
it would be like if I walked into your civ V game after 20 hours and said "welp, that's it, nothing left for you to do bernd!"
I have gnomoria in my list but haven't bothered with it yet
None, but butthurt jews are not white and will always feel inferior. I'd really like to hear more if I gave a shit about your inferiority complexes or you in general.
Similar. Have one week left to finish my masters thesis, but I'm just procrastinating. This could have been so much easier. I hate myself.
