How does Reddit deal with "cybersquatting"?
Let's say some asshole occupied a nice name and manages the community in an obnoxious manner. What will they do?

As opposed to what exactly on Reddit?
Didn't the admins already establish that they can remove any subreddit they don't like?
Who admins the subreddit?
Nothing, unless you are breaking the sitewide rules which are pretty relaxed and definitely don't prohibit most of what is considered "obnoxious" behaviour.
You could even snatch the name, make the subreddit private to everyone but yourself, and then as long as your account is active the admins won't take the subreddit from you.
There is a subreddit for making claims against subreddits with inactive mods, and the admins do hand over subreddits occasionally, but I forget what it's called.
There are reddit admins who are employees of reddit and manage the site. Subreddits are managed by moderators, who are just normal reddit users 99% of the time.
So it's not a big problem for Ruddint comminity/
